Batik Air has announced two new routes from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang (SZB) will be launched on 28 July. These are daily flights to the Kuching International Airport, (KCH) as well as the Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). The latter is notable for being its first international route from said airport.
The airline says that this “offers a more convenient and accessible alternative to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)”. Which benefits both outgoing and incoming flights, as “these new services are also expected to attract more visitors from Thailand and East Malaysia to discover the many charms of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor”.

According to the announcement, the SZB – DMK route is one that operates seven times weekly, so while it’s a route that’s available everyday, there’s only one flight each day. While the SZB – KCH route is also noted to be daily, the exact number of flights a day or week was not specified.
Batik Air CEO Chandran Rama Muthy says that the launch “signifies a new chapter, one where travellers can enjoy the convenience of flying closer to the city while still accessing a growing regional network. It’s also part of the airline’s claimed “commitment to transforming SZB into a vibrant city airport hub”.
