The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE was released back in October of 2023, and the time for a successor may be nigh. Except that it may not be called the Galaxy Buds FE 2, according to reports. New name aside, it may also be close to launch, as its model number has started appearing in support sites in various markets, including locally.

91mobiles reports that one Samsung Galaxy Buds Core has appeared in the US FCC listing, with the model number SM-R410, with an accompanying EP-QR410 which is believed to be its charging case. The report notes the possibility of this being the successor of the Galaxy Buds FE as it was designated the SM-R400, with its charging case being similarly labelled as EP-QR400. Also present in the listing is a battery capacity of 200 mAh for the buds and 500 mAh for the case.

More recently, Xpertpick has spotted support pages for the Samsung Galaxy Buds Core, or at least the product designation SM-R410, in various markets. We checked the Malaysian site and found a similar listing, though the page itself is mostly devoid of information on the actual product, with various links pointing elsewhere in the site. As such, we don’t know if it will look similar to the company’s previous earbuds or adopt the new stemmed look.

The latter report claims that the Samsung Galaxy Buds Core may see a July launch, alongside the core foldable line up, which are the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 this year. It’s not an impossibility, though last year, it was the mainline Galaxy Buds series that launched with the foldables rather than the FE.
