Huawei is set to unveil its nova 14 series smartphones in China on 19 May 2025, alongside a new MateBook Pro laptop running the recently introduced HarmonyOS PC platform. But those won’t be the only devices on display, as the company has also confirmed the debut of another major product at next week’s event: its first-ever foldable display laptop.
Revealed via its official Weibo account, the new device will be called the Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate Design. While only a teaser image showing its silhouette has been shared so far, it’s expected to join the same category as the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold and the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold.

Specifications have yet to be disclosed, though it’s highly likely the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design will ship with the HarmonyOS PC platform. To recap, this in-house operating system was developed to replace Windows following the expiration of Huawei’s licensing agreement earlier this year.
As for the nova 14 series, official teasers confirm that at least an Ultra model will be introduced, featuring a quad-camera setup and offered in Gold, Purple, White, and Black. Leaked details suggest the camera system may include a telephoto sensor and a 12MP zoom lens.
