vivo released its X Fold3 series last year, and is now reported to be launching the X Fold5. While the Pro version of last year’s series received a limited global release, the base model was only launched in China. However, only foldable from the brand will reportedly be released in the Chinese market.

As per XpertPick and Yogesh Brar on X, the global version of the vivo X Fold5 may sport a 6.53-inch LTPO cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its main screen is stated to be a 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED panel, with 2K+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone will apparently measure 4.3mm unfolded and 9.33mm folded, and may come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Internally, the X Fold5 could come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, similar to the X Fold3 Pro. It may pack a 6,000mAh battery, which XpertPick claims will make it the foldable phone with the largest battery capacity on the market. In comparison, the X Fold3 Pro has a 5,700mAh battery. Moving on, the vivo phone may have support for 90W wired charging and 30W wireless charging, and come with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

As for its cameras, the vivo X Fold5 is reported to have a triple-camera setup at its back. This would consist of a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide with autofocus, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. On its cover screen is a purported 32MP selfie camera, with a similar 32MP shooter on the inside.

Additional suspected features on the X Fold5 include a 3-stage Alert Slider, an unspecified IP rating, and some AI-driven features. Its supposed pricing was not reported, though the X Fold3 Pro was retailed at a starting price of INR159,999 (~RM8,048). As it uses the same chipset that is alleged to be in the upcoming vivo phone, it could be used as an indicator of what its price may be. However, no official confirmation has come out regarding the rumoured phone yet.
