Jetour has unveiled two upcoming SUVs for the Malaysian market at MAS 2025 today. The first being the T2 off-roader with a PHEV powertrain option, while the second is the all-electric eVT5.
The Jetour T2 offers rugged styling and solid off-road credentials. Its upright proportions and wide stance give it the presence of a traditional SUV, while features like split LED headlights, a horizontal grille, and chunky bumper cladding reinforce its go-anywhere image.
Under the hood, the T2 offers a range of powertrains. Under the hood, the T2 offers a range of powertrains. A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) pairs a 1.5-litre turbo engine with multiple electric motors and a 26.7 kWh battery, delivering 375 hp, 610 Nm of torque, and up to 117 km of electric-only range. For those preferring conventional engines, there’s a 1.5T with 184 hp and a 7-speed DCT, or a 2.0T producing 254 hp and 390 Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic. Selected 2.0T variants also come with Jetour’s XWD all-wheel drive for added off-road assurance.
Inside, the T2 features a high-tech cabin powered by the Snapdragon 8155 platform. It includes a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, and OTA support. Safety is comprehensive, with Level 2 driver assistance systems, a 360-degree camera, and automated parking. Comfort features such as electric seat adjustment, soft-touch materials, and available luxuries like a panoramic sunroof and wireless charging further enhance its appeal.
Next up is the Jetour eVT5 all-electric SUV, which bears a resemblance to the Tiggo Cross from Chery (which is Jetour’s parent company, by the way). It is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor with a power of 164 hp and torque of 280 Nm, and is powered by a 53.6kWh lithium-ion battery. At the moment, there are no details about its mechanicals but it is claimed that the battery can give it a range of up to 410 km.
The eVT5 features full LED headlights and taillights, 17-inch two-tone wheels, a standard-sized sunroof, electronically adjustable leather-wrapped seats, a 10.25-inch display screen, a wireless charging panel, rear seat air conditioning vents and a 360-degree panoramic camera.
Unfortunately, Jetour has yet to reveal the pricing or release date for either vehicle. Hopefully, we’ll hear more about the T2 and eVT5 in the weeks or even months to come.
