Last month, Xiaomi quietly introduced a new budget smartphone in Vietnam called the Redmi 13x. Now, the phone is heading to the Malaysian market and ahead of an official announcement from the brand, local retailers have already started listing the phone up for sale.
According to the retailers, the Redmi 13x will retail in Malaysia at RM599 with an 8GB+256GB configuration. This is a RM100 reduction from the Redmi 13‘s price tag, but this is not surprising given that it is essentially the same phone as last year’s, but with an updated design.

Spec-wise, the 13x sports a 6.79-inch 1080p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak global brightness of 550 nits. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra with support for 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. For protection, it comes with an IP53 rating for dust and water resistance as well as Corning Gorilla Glass on the screen.
On the optics side, it features a 108MP main camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 13MP front snapper. Powering the affordable device is a 5,030mAh battery with support for 33W charging. As of now, it is unknown when Xiaomi will officially announce the local launch date of the upcoming smartphone.
