In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha taking place next month, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has added a special train service to the East Coast. This was apparently done to accommodate travellers returning home for the religious holiday.

According to KTMB’s statement today, the KTMB Ekspres Lambaian Aidiladha will have two scheduled services, with 436 tickets available per trip. One-way tickets cost from RM80 to RM95, “with premier and superior class seating, superior sleeper coaches options, as well as access to chillax and cafe coaches”. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, 8 May 2025, at 10am.

The KTMB Ekspres Lambaian Aidiladha train will depart on 5 June at 11pm from KL Sentral to Tumpat, Kelantan. The return journey from Tumpat to KL Sentral will be on 8 June at 10:45pm. Before reaching its final destination at Tumpat, the train will stop at these following locations: Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kajang, Seremban, Pulau Sebang, Gemas, Bahau, Mentakab, Jerantut, Kuala Lipis, Gua Musang, Dabong, Kuala Krai, Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, and Wakaf Bharu.

This Aidiladha special train route is stated to support the government’s initiative to expand public transport options, and help ease traffic congestion along East Coast Routes. Passengers are encouraged to arrive at the station early to ensure smooth security and documentation checks at the boarding gates. Tickets are available via the KTM Mobile (KITS) app, KTMB’s official website at www.ktmb.com.my, or KTMB kiosk machines.
