Drone maker DJI has posted a teaser clip on its social medial channels, including X and YouTube, for an upcoming launch. Being a teaser, details from just the seven-second clip is scarce, but the most obvious takeaway is the camera system being shown in the second half.
Said system consists of three cameras, with the teaser showing the system capable of rotating. The look of the system itself is reminiscent of what you’d find in the DJI Mavic series of drones, fuelling speculation that this teaser could be for the launch of the Mavic 4.
DroneDJ speculates that this may be to facilitate portrait-orientated shots, with the report also including leaks if possible camera specs. This includes a 4/3 CMOS 100MP Hasselblad wide camera, a 70mm 1/1.3-inch CMOS 48MP Med-Telecamera and another 168mm 1/1.5-inch CMOS 50MP Telecamera. At the top end, these cameras can record at up to 6K/60fps HDR or 4K/120fps, 4K/60fps HDR or 4K/120fps, and 4K/60fps HDR or 4K/100fps respectively.
Other rumoured specs include a 6,654 mAh battery for a flight time of 51 minutes, and 512GB of storage space, though the report also mentions a Cine version with 2TB SSD expanded storage options. The report closes out the rumour list with an approximate US$2,250 (~RM9,538) asking price. Whether any of this is true, we’ll find out as soon as next week, as the DJI teaser has a 13 May date attached to it, as well as a time of 12PM GMT, which translates to 8PM locally.
