In its current form, you can do quite a lot with Google Gemini, and if the internet search giant keeps its promise, it will completely take over the role of the old Assistant by the end of the year. Those who need it to do more would obviously have to pay a subscription to get the Advanced version. But it looks like higher tier options may become available in the future.
TestingCatalog reports that there are code strings that reference terms like Gemini Pro and Gemini Ultra. One example comes in the form of the sentence “You’ve reached your video generation limit… Try again… or upgrade to Gemini Ultra”. Some users on X have also shared screenshots showing the same sentence in action.
Previously, Android Authority reported that Google may be introducing more tiers to its One AI Premium plan. These may be referred to as the Premium Plus or Premium Pro plans, though their reference in code form isn’t as straightforward, to say the least.
The separate Gemini and One AI Premium tiers suggest higher costs for more features or generations. That being said, Google has yet to say anything about these new higher tier subscription plans and Gemini functionality in an official capacity. Chances are the internet search giant is waiting for the next I/O event to do so.
