Unifi Mobile has announced that, in addition to its own roaming plans for Hajj pilgrims, it is giving out free prepaid SIM cards to pilgrims who attend select events organised by Tabung Haji. Via its Sahabat Korporate TH 2025 program, the company is giving away up to 32,500 prepaid SIM cards for free.
The company said that these cards were distributed at various Hajj courses and engagement events prior to the Hajj season. Those who got the prepaid SIM cards can then register though the Unifi UniVerse app, which can be downloaded via both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Anand Vijayan, Chief business and Consumer Officer of Unifi, says that “TM has supported Tabung Haji since 1995”. He also says that the initiative aligns with the company’s aspirations of “ensuring seamless and affordable connectivity for our Hajj pilgrims while they are abroad”.
Of course, these free prepaid SIM cards are not necessarily accessible to everyone, nor would they want to get a new SIM card when they already have existing ones in use. For those looking to get the Hajj roaming passes the regular method, you have choices ranging from one-day passes for RM15, to 45 days for RM125, all providing unlimited data.
