Google has announced the integration of two e-wallets, ShopeePay and TNG eWallet, into its Google Pay platform in Malaysia. This marks the feature’s first e-wallet integration in Southeast Asia, enabling Android users to pay for their online purchases on mobile sites via Google Chrome more easily.
According to the tech giant, while the initial integration is limited to ShopeePay and TNG eWallet, it will expand to support more partners in the future. Once the preferred e-wallet is set up in Google Pay, users will need to make a one-time verification for security purposes, but they will then be able to make one-click payments after being verified.

Aside from being able to make payments in Chrome without switching apps, the integration also allows users to top up their e-wallet balance directly through Pay. Moreover, the company says that soon, it will also enable users to view their e-wallet balance via Pay. As with any other payment method using Pay, each transaction requires either a fingerprint or PIN verification.
The integration is currently only supported by selected online merchants that use Fiuu and iPay88 payment processors. Unfortunately, the integration does not extend to Google Wallet, so you still can’t tap to pay with your e-wallets.
