Insta360 is gearing up to announce its next big product, and all signs point to a follow-up to a new flagship 360-degree action camera. On April 17, the company dropped a fast-paced teaser video titled “All Day. All Night. All Angles.” on its official YouTube channel, signifying the product’s imminent reveal.
It should be noted that the 51-second clip is age-restricted for some reason. It’s actually safe, we checked – unless intense camera movement is not your idea of a good time.
From the footage, it’s clear that the camera is designed for extreme versatility. Scenes include everything from snowboarding and scuba diving to rollerblading, jet skiing, figure skating, and even a hammer smash – which ends in a lens swap rather than destruction. That last scene likely nods to a swappable lens guard, a feature seen on the Insta360 X4, adding fuel to speculation that this upcoming device could be its successor: the X5.
Fun fact: Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed a distinctive pedestrian bridge illuminated in rainbow colours during the teaser montage. That is, in fact, Malaysia’s own Saloma Link in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur.

Insta360’s teaser also appears to confirm that the new camera will maintain, if not improve upon, the ruggedness of the X4 — which is waterproof to 10 metres out of the box and can be taken to depths of 50 metres with the company’s optional Invisible Dive Case. The brief sequence showing a user editing on a smartphone suggests continued support for mobile workflows, including AI editing tools, reframing options and quick exports for social platforms.
Chances of the upcoming camera actually being the Insta360 X5 is strongly suggested by unofficial sources and leaks. These include those recently shared by tipsters, including Igor Bogdanov (aka Quadro_News), who posted images depicting the device on X.
