Samsung has reportedly halted the release of the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Galaxy Z Flip6. According to well-known leakster Ice Universe, the rollout was halted following the discovery of a “serious bug”.

According to the tipster, Galaxy S24 users in South Korea began having issues with unlocking their phones following the update, which is why Samsung has seemingly decided to withdraw the update. Additionally, they have also reportedly taken to Samsung Korea’s forums during the weekend to discuss the halted updates.

The reason for the delay in the Galaxy S24 push is that users of the official version of One UI7 of the Korean S24 series found that "they could not be unlocked normally in some cases."
Samsung urgently reviewed the firmware withdrawal in other countries.

Initially, it was believed that the issue exclusively affected the Galaxy S24 models powered by Exynos 2400 chips. However, it seems the updates have also been paused for the Snapdragon-powered variants of Samsung’s 2024 flagship series. So far, there is no word on whether the bug affects other phones like the Fold6 or Flip6, but X user @tarunvats33 has pointed out that Samsung has taken down the update for the foldables as well.

Samsung itself has not officially released a statement regarding this issue yet, nor has it confirmed that updates have been halted. In South Korea, One UI 7 officially began on 7 April for the aforementioned devices, with other markets slated to follow suit in the same month. On that note, the Malaysian rollout is expected today, but so far we’ve yet to receive a notification of its release on our Galaxy S24, Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 models.

Galaxy Fam!!

It's official—the worldwide One UI 7 rollout is paused.

The Galaxy S24 series and Z Fold/Flip6 (now US models) have had their updates pulled. Firmware has been removed from OTA servers.

The discovery of this issue spells trouble for Samsung, as the company has seemingly failed to release a stable update even after months of testing. Hopefully, the cause of the issue will be identified soon and the rollout can proceed smoothly once the bug has been ironed out.
