Gigabyte appears to have registered a Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics card with the South Korean Radio Research Agency (RRA), making this one of several confirmations that the entry-level RDNA4 is on the way. What this also means is that the launch of the GPU is imminent, with the suggestion that it would be making its debut at Computex this year.
Sadly, it appears that Gigabyte is only releasing two variants of the 9060 XT, which are the 8GB and 16GB models. It’s disappointing, given that around the same time the application was discovered, a list of MSI’s GeForce RTX 5060 Ti cards had also leaked, detailing a total of nine SKUs, expected to be released sometime next month. We’re not trying to be snide here, but this scenario does speak volumes of the reluctance of brands to adopt to give AMD’s GPUs the royal treatment.
The RTX 5060 Ti, by the by, is expected to be available in two variants as well, both with 8GB and 16GB GDDR7 memory. The 9060 XT is clearly mimicking the capacities trend, although it is using the older GDDR6 memory module. Also, we still don’t have the official specifications for AMD’s upcoming card, so we’ll just have to wait patiently for that.
