Late last year, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the Apple Vision Pro 2 may be launched between later this year or early next. The claim was also echoed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Now, a report out of China claims that the next generation MR headset by the bitten fruit brand is already in mass production. With that, the headset may be out in the market later this year.
The report comes from Chinese outlet IT Home, citing “multiple independent sources”, per machine translation, who claim that components like panels and the outer shell are already in production. Also made was the claim that some suppliers are rushing to fulfil orders. Unfortunately, the vaguely mentioned components was as much detail as the report provides.

That being said, Kuo previously predicted that the Apple Vision Pro 2 will make use of the M5 chip, the release timeline of which would probably line up with the headset’s. Performance brought by the chip upgrade aside, it’s unclear what other internal upgrades the headset will sport. As the sequel headset is said to took mostly similar on the outside, most of the changes is thought to be internal, though it’s still unclear what they are beyond the aforementioned M5 chip.
Overall, the claim of a release later this year lines up somewhat with the previously claimed release window. Beyond that though, the lack of detail should be reason enough to take this latest claim with more salt than usual.
