The Hari Raya Aidilfitri festival is just around the corner, and one common tradition during the celebrations is the journey people make to their hometowns. However, this year will be quite different, as even more electric vehicles (EVs), including the Proton e.Mas, will be on the road.

In light of this, Proton New Energy Technology (Pro-Net), a subsidiary of the national automaker Proton, is offering a special 30% discount on charging fees from 29 March to 7 April 2025. The initiative aims to ensure EV users enjoy a smooth and affordable journey back to their hometowns.

Pro-Net provides access to over 2,000 public charging points across the country, making it the largest integrated charging network in Malaysia, covering 85% of the nation’s charging stations.

However, this discount applies exclusively to Proton e.Mas and Smart EV users. To benefit from the offer, EV owners must use the Proton e.Mas or Hello Smart apps to start the charging session, after which the discount will be applied automatically.

This is not the first time Pro-Net has offered such a discount; a similar 30% discount was available during the Chinese New Year festival earlier this year. As many people will be travelling long distances in their EVs, it is recommended to take full advantage of this offer. Additionally, those planning to travel to their hometowns in EVs are also advised to begin their journey with a full charge, plan their route in advance, and take note of available charging stations along the way.
