Last week, Tecno launched the Camon 40 Pro 4G in Malaysia but it seems the brand will also be adding a new model to the lineup soon with the Camon 40 Pro 5G. The 5G counterpart has received SIRIM certification, which is usually a strong indicator that the phone will be released in Malaysia very soon.
The Camon 40 Pro 5G was listed on SIRIM on 21 March 2025 with the model number CM7. It is nearly identical to the 4G variant, with the exception of a more powerful processor as well as an upgraded display.
To recap, the Tecno Camon 40 Pro 5G sports a 6.78-inch 1080p AMOLED display with curved sides and a higher refresh rate of 144Hz. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset. For protection, it gets a Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the screen as well as an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.
On optics front, the mid-ranger is fitted with a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP selfie snapper with autofocus. Backing the phone is a 5,200mAh battery with support for 45W charging. As for connectivity, it supports 5G, unspecified versions of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and NFC.
