iQiyi is one of the many choices of streaming services that we have available in Malaysia. This news won’t be affecting you if you’re already a subscriber, but if you are not one yet, you may want to do so soon if what you read doesn’t deter you. This is because the service has announced an increase in its subscription prices, but only for new customers.
Amanz reports that two of its subscription tiers, Standard VIP and Premium VIP, will see increases in prices for new customers who choose to pay monthly or quarterly. For the former, the monthly price is going up from RM11.90 to RM13.90 and the quarterly charge is going from RM31.90 to RM35.90. As for the latter, the prices are going from RM17.90 to RM20.90 and RM47.90 to RM53.90 respectively.

Notably though, the annual subscription prices for both tiers have remained unchanged. This may be a move to funnel new customers into signing up for the long term rather than just a month or three. For context, the annual cost for the Standard VIP and Premium VIP subscriptions are RM119.90 and RM179.90 respectively.
To reiterate, this will only affect new signups to the iQiyi service, rather than existing subscribers. The price hike is also not going into effect immediately, and instead will take place a week from now, or more specifically 21 March 2025.
