vivo has added another device to the Y29 lineup with the Y29s, which seems to be another entry-level smartphone. Listed on its global website, the new phone’s placement in the series is a tad confusing given that it has a more powerful chipset than the vanilla model, but it gets a smaller battery and a lower-end display.
The Y29s is fitted with a 6.74-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 570 nits. Under the hood, the budget phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset with support for 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. It also gets an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance as well as military-grade shock resistance.

For imaging, the smartphone features a 50MP main camera, a depth sensor, and a 5MP front shooter. Powering it is a 5,500mAh battery with support for 15W charging. Additionally, it comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for unlocking.
The global price and availability of the Y29s has yet to be revealed. However, it has already been listed on the SIRIM database, meaning that we can expect the company to release the phone here relatively soon, although no exact date has been announced yet.
