ASUS is continuing its streak of introducing products focused on improving user well-being, this time with its all-new VU Air Ionizer series of monitors. The lineup includes the 23.8-inch VU249HFI-W, the 27-inch VU279HFI-W, and the 34-inch VU34WCIP-W. What sets these monitors apart from typical displays is their integrated air purification system.
Using nano-ion technology, the ionizer is positioned to purify the air directly in front of the user. According to ASUS, it can effectively remove up to 90% of airborne dust, pollen, and allergens within three hours. The system has an effective coverage area of one cubic metre, and does not require any filters for the air purification process.

As for specs, each monitor in the VU Air Ioniser series is equipped with an FHD IPS panel (for the 23.8-inch and 27-inch models) or a 1500R curved ultrawide panel (for the 34-inch model), providing 178-degree viewing angles. With SmoothMotion technology, the displays support refresh rates of up to 100Hz and a 1ms Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT), ensuring smooth, clear visuals with reduced motion blur. The 34-inch model also offers a 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio, delivering 35% more onscreen space compared to standard FHD panels for enhanced productivity and immersion.
Other notable highlights include the incorporation of ASUS’ Eye Care Plus features for a comfortable viewing experience even during extended use, TÜV Rheinland-certified Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free enhancements for reduced eye strain, and Color Augmentation support for users with color-vision deficiencies. Additionally, a Rest Reminder feature encourages users to take regular breaks.

The VU Air Ionizer series also prioritises sustainability with eco-friendly packaging that can be repurposed into practical desk accessories. The packaging for the VU249HFI-W and VU279HFI-W models can be transformed into a phone holder, desk organiser, and a small laptop stand. The VU34WCIP-W’s packaging, on the other hand, extends this functionality by also serving as a file holder.

While it is unusual for two such technologies to be introduced in a single package, this approach appears more practical compared to ASUS’ eyebrow-raising aromatherapy mouse. However, ASUS has not yet revealed the pricing or availability of the three VU Air Ionizer monitors, and it is unclear whether they will ever see a release in Malaysia.
