We’ve seen the teaser by Acer about returning to the smartphone market. But while the launch is scheduled for 25 March, it looks like a couple of them have been let out of the bag ahead of schedule. Both are listed under its AcerPure sub-branding, one that’s previously mostly reserved for home appliances.
A couple of these smartphones have appeared on the AcerPure India website Both their names are quite the mouthful, and both appear to be entry level devices. The first of these is the Acerpure Acerone Liquid S162E4, which comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen, a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset, a 16MP rear camera plus a depth sensor and a 5MP front-facing unit in a waterdrop notch.
Then there’s the Acerpure Acerone Liquid S272E4, which has a slightly larger 6.74-incdh screen, but shares the HD+ resolution and the 5MP front-facing shooter in a waterdrop notch. At this point, it’s probably fitting to mention that both devices share a 4GB + 64GB memory and storage configuration, and a 5,000 mAh battery with USB-C charging. The chipset ehre is a MediaTek Helio G36, with the rear camera being a 20MP unit instead.
While the listings do not yet mention a price, it looks like both devices only come with one colour option, with the former coming only in blue, and the latter only in black. It remains to be seen if these are the only phones that Acer will be announcing once 25 March rolls around.
