Nothing has officially unveiled its latest mid-range smartphones, the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro. Both offer the same signature transparent back design and Glyph lighting arrangement, but feature differing camera arrays. Speaking of which, they are also the first handsets from the company to feature a triple camera setup, as well as telephoto capabilities.

The Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro shares a 6.77-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, and up to 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. While they share many core specifications, the two models differ in their camera systems and design elements.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Pro features a circular rear camera design and offers a more advanced camera setup. It includes a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The periscope lens utilises Nothing’s TrueLens 3.0 engine and AI enhancements to extend zoom capabilities up to 6x. On the front, it houses a 50MP selfie camera.

In contrast, the standard Nothing Phone (3a) retains the 50MP main camera and 8MP ultra-wide, but replaces the periscope lens with a 50MP 2x telephoto camera. It also swaps the front-facing camera for a 32MP unit while keeping the same 8MP ultra-wide lens.

Both smartphones are powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 50W fast wired charging. They also include an in-display fingerprint scanner, IP64-rated water and dust resistance, NFC, and 5G connectivity. Running on Android 15 with Nothing OS 3.1, they are promised three major OS updates and six years of security patches.

Apart from featuring new telephoto cameras, Nothing has also introduced the Essential Key on both Nothing (3a) models. It’s a programmable button positioned beneath the power button that provides quick access to the AI-powered Essential Space, allowing users to manage and send content efficiently.
