Razer’s Latest Blade 16 Is Thinner Than Its Predecessor

And for the first time, fitted with an AMD chip.

In conjunction to the arable gaming chair and latest desktop accessories, Razer also officially launched its refreshed Blade 16 and had it on show at CES 2025. Unlike its predecessors, the new 16-incher sports a fresh look and thinner chassis, thanks to the new components.

It’s amazing to see how much weight Razer has managed to shave off the Blade 16 with the size reduction. It has a thickness of 1.49cm, which is approximately 32% thinner than the previous generation.

Another major change is the choice of CPU inside: Razer has ditched Intel’s silicon in favour of AMD’s Ryzen AI portfolio, and can be fitted with up to a AI 9 HX 370. Because of that, the laptop qualifies as a Microsoft Copilot+ machine and as such, comes with the dedicated key at the bottom right.

Moving on, the Blade 16 now supports NVIDIA’s latest GeForce RTX 50 Series laptop GPUs, and can be fitted with up to an RTX 5090 and all 24GB of its GDDR7 memory. In addition, the RAM capacity can be up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM but they’ll be soldered onto the PCB.

The display is a 16-inch QHD+ (2,560 x 1,600) OLED panel with a refresh rate of 240Hz and 0.2ms GTG response time. It’s also an NVIDIA G-Sync display, by the way. Further, the keyboard has a deeper key travel at 1.5mm, which offers a softer, more comfortable typing experience.

Razer isn’t giving specifics about battery life but it does have a 90Whr battery inside it. Given our earlier tests with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 in the Zenbook S 16, it would be interesting to see how much performance-per-watt the new Blade 16 offers. That said, we don’t have any word from Razer on local availability and pricing.
