GAC Aion ES Launches In Malaysia For RM106,800

An entry-level EV with a price point to match.

GAC has unveiled the Aion ES, a fully electric C-segment sedan, at KLIMS 2024 today. Available in Glamour Black, Holographic Silver and Pure White, the Aion ES combines sleek design with modern electric performance at an attractive price point.

Measuring 4,810 mm in length, 1,880mm in width, and 1,545mm in height, with a 2,750mm wheelbase, the Aion ES offers ample cabin space. Inside, it features a 3.5-inch LCD multi-info display, an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, a rotary gear selector, and conveniences such as dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, rear air vents, and leatherette seats. Additional touches include all-LED lighting, auto headlamps and wipers, and a power tailgate.

Powered by a 136PS / 225Nm electric motor, the GAC Aion ES is equipped with a 55.2kWh LFP battery, delivering a range of 442km (NEDC). Charging options include up to 6.6kW AC (11 hours for a full charge) or 60 kW DC, which replenishes 30-80% in just 30 minutes. The car also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, one-pedal driving, and three regenerative braking settings.

Additionally, the EV offers a 450-litre boot and rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/55 tyres. Safety features include two airbags, ESP, ISOFIX anchors, and a reverse camera.

For the local market, the GAC Aion ES is priced at RM106,800 and buyers will also receive a complimentary 7 kW wallbox charger valued at RM3,500. Warranties include eight years/160,000km for the vehicle, and eight years/200,000km for the battery, motor as well as ECU.
