ASUS has had its Expertbook line of work laptops for the professional market, consisting of various models of the B series. Now, the brand is adding a new P series, with a focus on improved AI features over older entries. Announced for the local market, the brand has announced the Expertbook P1 and P5. The former has 14- and 15-inch options, while the latter only has a 14-inch form factor.
Despite being in the same line, the the smaller member of the ASUS Expertbook P1 has two configurations in the local market, while the larger model has one. Starting with the former, we’re looking a an Intel Core i5-13500H with 8GB of RAM, or an Intel Core i7-13700H with 16GB of RAM. The screen here is a 14-inch Full HD IPS with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The larger model, on with its 15.6-inch IPS Full HD display, has instead an Intel Core i5-13500H processor with 8GB of RAM. Despite their starting memory figures, the company says that they are upgradeable.
The same applies to their storage, with both models of the ASUS Expertbook P1 coming with 512GB of PCIe 4 SSD storage and an additional slot for another. Other things that the two sizes have in common is, surprisingly, a 63 Wh three-cell lithium polymer battery, Intel XE graphics, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports and two more of the USB-A variant, one HDMMI 1.4b port, a 3.5mm audio jack and an RJ45 LAN port.
As the ASUS Expertbook P5 only comes in a single configuration, the only option here is a 14-inch 16:10 2,560 x 1,600 IPS display, an Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor 258V, Intel Arc Graphics, 32GB of memory, and 1TB PCIe 4 SSD storage. The battery here is a familiar 63 Wh three-cell lithium polymer pack, and for I/O ports it gets two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, two USB-A 3.2 Ge 2 ports, a HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
All of the laptops announced today are already available, with the smaller ASUS Expertbook P1 being priced at RM3,799 and RM4,759 for the Core i5 and Core i7 configs respectively. The larger model, on the other hand, has a RM3,849 price tag. As for the P5 and its sole configuration, this one is priced at RM6,859.
