This weekend, Infinix introduced the Smart 9, the latest addition to its Smart series. The successor to the Smart 8, it comes with the same price tag while getting a bigger and much-improved display as well as a more powerful processor.
While the new smartphone has not been announced for the Malaysian market yet, a few retailers have already listed it for pre-order with a price tag of RM299. As of writing, it is unknown when it will start shipping.
The Smart 9 sports a 6.7-inch 720p LCD display with a higher refresh rate of 120Hz, a peak brightness of 500 nits, and the brand’s Dynamic Bar feature. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Helio G81 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

On the optics side, the Smart 9 gets a simple setup made up of a 13MP primary camera on the back as well as an 8MP selfie shooter housed in the punch-hole cutout. Powering the entry-level device is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. For durability, it is equipped with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, along with drop resistance.
