The Touch ‘n Go eWallet app is a very useful one to have when traveling overseas thanks to the integration of Alipay+. As a result of a new partnership between the latter and FREENOW, users of the former now get an additional benefit, which is easier booking of taxis in seven countries in Europe.
If you’re unfamiliar with the name, FREENOW is a German multi-mobility app, with the company saying that its taxi offering is at its core. In addition to just getting taxis via the app like you would, say, a Grab ride, FREENOW also lets you rent cars, e-bikes and e-scrooters, as well as being used for public transport. The app serves its home market, naturally, but also works in Spain, Ireland, Italy, France, Greece and Austria.
Getting back to the company’s partnership with Alipay+, this also means that Touch ‘n Go eWallet users get to use their e-wallet to pay for FREENOW rides. Worth noting that the company also operates in the UK and Poland, but these two countries are not included as a result of this partnership.
According to the press release announcing the integration, this “mini-program” was hatched to “enhance the travel experience for Asian visitors to Europe”. Which is naturally something that Alipay+ would benefit from, being an official sponsor of the UEFA EURO 2024.
