Shopee has announced that its databack programme in collaboration with Yes will be ending soon. According to the Yes 5G For All page on its app, the databack programme will be ending on 31 May 2024, which is about three and a half years after it first launched back in December 2020.

The collaboration between Shopee and Yes enabled e-commerce customers to get free data when they spend on the platform. For every RM50 spent, users can redeem an extra 5GB for free, with a cap of 100GB. This means that if you spent RM1,000 in a month, you would get 100GB of data that you can use with your Yes 5G account.

To get the data, you have to redeem the vouchers issued to your account, which have a validity of four months before expiring. For prepaid users of the telco, they will need to get an add-on RM15 minimum in order to be eligible to redeem the free data.

Of course, with the databack programme ending, you will need to redeem all your vouchers before 31 May. Currently, the telco’s cheapest prepaid plan is its FT5G Unlimited package, which offers unlimited data at unlimited speeds for 5G, a 12GB hotspot quota, and unlimited calls. For those who want more hotspot usage, you can opt for the Yes Power 35 postpaid plan.
