Tecno has officially announced that its latest smartphone, the Pova 6 Pro 5G, will launch in Malaysia on 2 April 2024. As per the brand’s teaser on Facebook, the device is set to retail at RM999 for the local market, while its specifications are confirmed to match its debut in The Philippines earlier this month.

To recap, the Tecno Pova 6 Pro 5G features a semi-transparent rear design with a dynamic light LED setup for lighting effects. It sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. Also onboard are dual Dolby Atmos stereo speakers and an under-display fingerprint sensor, while the phone itself is rated at IP53 in terms of water/dust resistance.

Under its hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 5G chipset with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Take note that you can boost the former’s capacity further via the built-in virtual memory feature, which allows you to convert up to 12GB of storage into additional RAM. Meanwhile, the Pova 6 Pro 5G is also equipped with a large 6,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging and 10W reverse charging support, as well as NFC, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 5 connectivity.

The new Pova 6 Pro 5G is available in Meteorite Grey and Comet Green colourways, and will be available to order exclusively via the brand’s official Shopee store on 2 April 2024. Tecno adds that the phone will later be sold via its Lazada and TikTok stores, as well as authorised dealers the day after.

As you may recall, the vanilla Tecno Pova 6 has already made an appearance on SIRIM. However, there’s still no word whether the brand will bring this variant to Malaysia just yet.
