[UPDATE: 1:50 PM, 6 Mar 2024] MCMC now has a revised Mandatory Standards for Quality of Service (MSQoS), which will require telcos to provide an average 4G download speed of at least 7.7Mbps starting 1 April 2024. Regarding this, while two of the new prepaid plans currently have 4G speeds below this new threshold, Unifi told us that it will “abide and follow any MCMC guidelines and requirements that are necessary to be implemented within the timeframe given.”

Unifi Mobile has launched some new 5G prepaid plans under its UNI5G banner consisting of two monthly plans and a weekly pass. On top of this, the company is offering a laundry list of free perks for both new and existing customers to switch to the new plans.

To start with, the company has the Wow 35 plan which costs RM35/month. This plan gives you “unlimited” data with a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 100GB, unlimited calls, and 10GB of hotspot usage, although it currently comes with an extra 50GB of hotspot for a limited time. Notably, while the 5G data speed is uncapped, the 4G speed is limited to only 5Mbps.

The more affordable plan falls under Wow 25 with a monthly price of RM25. It offers you 30GB of data but no call minutes as well as hotspot usage with a shared quota. Finally, there is the Wow 10 weekly plan that costs RM10 and comes with 10GB, and similar to Wow 35, the 5G speed is unlimited but 4G is capped at 3Mbps. The 10GB quota is also divided between 7GB for 5G and 3GB for 4G+5G.
