WhatsApp is officially rolling out four new text formatting options for users. The new options now allow you to create bullet point messages, numerical lists, quotes, and inline code.
The four new WhatsApp text formatting options are additions to the already existing standard options, which are Bold, Italix, Strikethrough, and Monospace. As per its official descriptions:
- Bullet Lists to help outline steps in a process, list ingredients in a recipe or call out main points of a message (use – symbol, followed by one space).
- Numbered Lists to note a specific order of things such as instructions or recap of events (use 1 or 2 digits followed by a period and one space).
- Block Quote to help highlight (use > symbol followed by one space)
- Inline Code to help distinguish specific information within a sentence (wrap text with ` symbol)
The new WhatsApp text formatting options are available effective immediately but will be rolled out in batches, so do be patient if you don’t get it yet. It is available for all Android, iOS, Web, and Mac desktop users. Channel admins will also be able to use the options.
