After some teasing, the iQOO 12 is finally available in Malaysia. It is the vivo sub-brand’s newest flagship smartphone, packed with high-end specs and is the first phone in Malaysia to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Unfortunately, the Pro model did not make its way here, meaning that there’s no iQOO flagship with wireless charging.
The iQOO 12 sports a flat 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a staggering refresh rate of 144Hz and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits with wet touch technology. It is equipped with an in-house Q1 chip to enhance the gaming experience with features such as low-latency frame insertion, superframe, and super-resolution and it has a vapour chamber inside for heat dissipation.
As mentioned above, the phone also features a bleeding-edge flagship SoC from Qualcomm paired with a whopping 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Powering it is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast wired charging. For connectivity, it offers support for 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, and NFC.
The back of the phone features a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP “astrophotography” camera with OIS, a 64MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, 100x digital zoom and OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Moreover, the punch-hole cutout in the display houses a 16MP front camera.
The iQOO 12 retails for RM3,399 with two colour options, namely black and a white colourway with a BMW M logo. It is available for pre-order from today until 11 December through iQOO’s Lazada and Shopee stores, offering a RM50 discount and free wireless earbuds. Early birds who purchase the phone between 12 to 18 December will also get the discount but it won’t include the earbuds.
