Last year, Xbox partnered with Doritos in the US and certain European countries, as well as Australia, giving away a month of Xbox Game Pass, in addition to other prizes. It’s been a year since, but the equivalent of the promo is now available in Malaysia, as well as Singapore and the Philippines. Naturally, since the gaming arm of Microsoft doesn’t have an official presence here, we are getting a month of PC Game Pass instead.
For the most part, the rules are unchanged. You’ll have to first buy one of the applicable Doritos packs, which are the Nacho Cheese 190g and 65g, Taco 190g, BBQ 190g, Spicy Nacho 190g and Roasted Corn 170g. On the inside of these packs you’ll see a 10-character code that you can then redeem via the promo’s website.
Upon participating, you’re just about guaranteed to win a one-month PC Game Pass trial. But because this is marked as a trial, only first-time users of the subscription service can actually make use of this. You can also claim in-game items for Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, Fallout 76 and PUBG Battlegrounds, while stocks last. That being said, the promo website states that there are 65,000 of each, so there’s plenty to go around.
More limited are the following prizes, which are listed as “consolation prizes”. These include codes for one, three or 12 months of PC Game Pass, which can be stacked on top of existing subscriptions, as well as game codes for the first three games mentioned above. Added in this category are three unspecified mouse pads. Then for the “grand prizes” there’s a gaming laptop, a gaming monitor, two mechanical gaming keyboards, two webcams, three gaming mice and three gaming headsets up for grabs.
This Doritos promo ends on 30 September of 2023, and if you get any PC Game Pass codes as a result, they must be used by 30 November. You’ll also need to keep the Doritos pack with the code you used, or at least images of it, for verification purposes.
