CelcomDigi currently offers 5G connectivity via its postpaid and prepaid plans alike. Granted, not everyone that is subscribed to one of said plans has a 5G device to make use of it. In an effort to change this, and likely to also gain more subscribers, the telco is holding what it calls the Karnival Jom 5G this weekend, or more specifically, between 18 and 20 August, in select locations in the country.
So what exactly is being on offer here? CelcomDigi says that it is offering discounts for 5G devices to existing customers and new subscribers alike. For the latter, this will be familiar if you’ve seen the telco’s EasyPhone and PhoneFreedom 365 installment plans. For the former, the telco is giving away select 5G devices for free to those already subscribed to plans that cost at least RM90 a month. This means the Digi Postpaid 90 or above, as well as the Celcom MEGA 98 or above.
Naturally, the higher the retail price of the 5G device in question, the less likely that CelcomDigi will be giving them away to subscribers for free. But at any rate, participating phone maker brands in this promo include Apple, Samsung, OPPO, vivo, HONOR, realme and even ZTE.
