The Redmagic 8S Pro series, which are slated to go on sale in Malaysia next week, will be offered at a special discounted price at launch. According to the company, all three variants will be sold at up to RM550 off exclusively via its official Shopee store for a limited time from 14 to 18 August 2023. With this, interested buyers can get the Midnight variant at only RM3,149, or the Platinum and Aurora options at RM3,949.
Here’s a recap for all three models. The Redmagic 8S Pro series share the same design language but are offered in three different finishes: Midnight, Platinum, and Aurora. It’s worth noting that only the latter of which features a transparent rear case, with an intricate panel visible underneath it.
All three sport a 6.8-inch 2480 x 1116 pixel AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection, as well as a 16MP under-display selfie shooter. Manwhile, found on the back is a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP main, 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro, while situated beside it on the left is the series’ signature ring-shaped RGB lighting system.
Internally, the Redmagic 8S Pro models are equipped with a clocked-up version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which the company dubs as the “Leading Version”. Keeping the phone’s temperature in check during intense gaming sessions is the brand’s latest ICE 12.0 cooling system, which features a large VC cooling plate, a new duct structure and cooling gel as part of its setup.
For memory configurations, both the Platinum and Aurora variants of the Redmagic 8S Pro come with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS4.0 storage. The Midnight option, on the other hand, comes with a smaller set up of 12GB + 256GB.
In terms of battery performance, all three feature a large 6,000mAh battery capacity, which also comes with 65W fast charging support via USB-C. According to the company, a full charge is estimated to take just 40 minutes.
Once the promotion ends, the Midnight variant of the new Redmagic 8S Pro line-up will retail at RM3,699, while both the Platinum and Aurora colourways are priced at RM4,499. Apart from Shopee, the phones will also be available for purchase via the brand’s official web store and authorised dealers across Malaysia.
