Earlier today, HP officially launched its latest Omen 16 and Victus 16 gaming laptops. For the first time, the new laptop lineups mark the first time that the brand isn’t playing catch up and comes equipped with the latest hardware from Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA.

Starting with the Victus 16, the laptop is part of HP’s budget-friendly lineup but comes, surprisingly, with some rather impressive components underneath the hood. For starters, consumers have a choice between a 13th Gen Intel Core CPU or an AMD Ryzen 7 7000 Series and more specifically with the latter, a CPU from the chipmaker’s more recent Ryzen 7040U Series. The units we saw on display during the event housed a Core i5-13500HX and a Ryzen 7 7840HS. For its discrete GPU, all models seem to come with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 as the default, while the memory size is 16GB DDR5.

Additional specifications of the HP Victus 16 include a 16.1-inch Full HD display with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz and 7ms response time (GTG). Pricing for the laptop starts at RM4,149.

Moving on, there is the Omen 16. This lineup has long been part of the HP premium gaming laptop segment, and it even comes in two segments, a standard Omen SKU and an Omen Transcend 16. Like the Victus 16 lineup, the non-Transcend model is available in configurations featuring up to an Intel Core i9-13900HX or AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS CPU, and up to an RTX 4070 discrete graphics. Further specifications include up to a 16.1-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display with 3ms response time (GTG), a 240Hz refresh rate, and up to 32GB DDR5 RAM. Price-wise, the lineup starts from RM6,899.

As for the HP Omen Transcend 16, the laptop is the thinnest and lightest gaming laptop under the brand’s range and shares similar specs to the non-Transcend model, the differentiating factor being the 16:10 aspect ratio display and mini-LED panel. It is also the most expensive of the lot, retailing for RM10,999.

Both the HP Victus 16 and Omen 16 are available starting today. As for the Omen Transcend 16, the laptop will only be available sometime between mid-August and September.
