The vivo Y36 5G has just made its way into the Malaysian market, offering yet another mid-range device. It made its debut in Indonesia at the end of May with two variants, a 4G and a 5G version. For our market, the brand is only releasing the 5G variant with a single configuration in two colour options.

For the display, the vivo Y36 sports a 6.64-inch LCD display with a 1080p resolution, a peak brightness of 650 nits, and a standard refresh rate of 60Hz. On the side of the chassis, it has a fingerprint scanner for unlocking and when it comes to protection, the phone is rated at IP54 for dust and water resistance.

Unlike the 4G version which gets a Qualcomm SoC, the 5G model runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage along with the option to enable an additional 8GB of virtual RAM. Unlike variants in other regions, the Y36 5G here does not come with a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

On the back, there is a dual-camera setup made up of a 50MP primary sensor as well as a 2MP bokeh lens while up front, it houses a 16MP selfie snapper. Software-wise, it ships with Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13.

Inside, there is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 44W wired fast charging, which the brand claims can charge the phone up to 50% in half an hour. For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC. Moreover, the device is fitted with stereo speakers and a 200% volume booster feature.
