Fresh from its global unveiling last week, Samsung today has officially launched the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G in Malaysia. In general, both devices are the first mid-range offering from the 2023 edition of the Galaxy A Series.
Featuring a physical design that closely resembles the higher-end Galaxy S23 Series, both devices once again generally revolve around high-resolution photography and massive battery size. Samsung has also continued to retain the high-quality display alongside the IP67 durability factor for both models.
Specifically, the Galaxy A54 5G is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 1380 and features a 6.4-inch Infinity-O display with a Full HD 120Hz Super AMOLED panel. For photography, the phone relies on a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera with an optical image stabilization (OIS) system, 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and 5MP f/2.2 macro camera alongside a 32MP f/2.2 selfie camera.
On the other hand, the Galaxy A34 5G which runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 comes with a 6.6-inch Infinity-U display that also has a Full HD 120 Super AMOLED panel. Its rear camera module contains 48MP f/1.8 primary camera with OIS, 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and 5MP f/2.2 macro camera while selfies are handled by a 13MP f/2.2 camera.
With both of them carrying 8GB of RAM, 256GB internal storage, and a 5000mAh battery, the Galaxy A54 5G can be obtained for RM1,899 while the Galaxy A34 5G is available for RM1,599. That’s a slight increase from the launch price of their predecessors though with a difference of between RM50 to RM100, respectively.
Both models are now readily available for pre-order from Samsung Malaysia eStore and as part of the launch, pre-order customers will receive a free Galaxy Buds Live alongside their new devices. They will also be able to purchase selected adapters with a discount of 30% from the store.

Alternatively, the new Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G can also be pre-ordered through Samsung Experience Stores and authorised dealers nationwide. Both of these mid-range 5G devices are scheduled to be released into the wider market starting on 7 April onwards and they will also be provided with a 2-year warranty from Samsung.
On a related note, there is also another new Galaxy A Series device that has just made its way into Malaysia in the form of A14. As you can tell from the model number, it is a lower-end release which is why it costs much lower at RM799.
