Alongside the new MagicBook X 16, HONOR has also announced the upcoming arrival of its Pad X8 Android tablet for the Malaysian market. Marketed under the company’s X brand of products, the device is offered as a more affordable variant of the HONOR Pad 8 that was launched back in August this year.

The new HONOR Pad X8 features a smaller 10.1-inch TFT LCD display with 1200 x 1920 pixel resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 16.7 million colour output. Though its audio offering is not as robust as its sibling’s, the tablet does come equipped with 9.1-channel stereo speakers for all of your entertainment needs. In addition, it also comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack for a more private listening experience, as well as Bluetooth 5.1 support for pairing with earbuds and other compatible devices.

As you’d may expect, the internals of this variant differs from the original HONOR Pad 8 as well. Rather than a Qualcomm chip, the tablet packs an entry-level MediaTek Helio P22T SoC, which is paired together with a single memory configuration of 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. Apart from Wi-Fi support, this model also features built-in LTE connectivity of up to 4G.

Powering the tablet is a 5,100 mAh battery, though it lacks any fast charging capabilities. Software-wise, the new Pad X8 runs on HONOR’s Magic UI 4 platform, which is based on Android 10. Meanwhile, found on the back of the tablet is a lone 5 MP camera that is capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30 fps, whereas in front is a 2 MP selfie camera.

The new HONOR Pad X8 is slated to go on sale in Malaysia next week on 11 November 2022 via the brand’s website, nationwide physical stores, as well as its official stores on Lazada and Shopee. The tablet will retail for RM 899, and comes with a complimentary Flip Cover.
