Among the new devices that Xiaomi officially launched for the local market last night included the Redmi Pad, its subsidiary brand’s first ever tablet product which initially debuted in India just hours prior. As revealed by the company, all three of its configurations are now on sale in Malaysia, with the entry model offered at a price below the RM 1,000 range.

Specifications of the Redmi Pad for the local market are no different from its debut in India. To recap, featured on the tablet is a 10.6-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 90 Hz, which makes it ideal for consuming media such as images and videos. This is further complemented by its onboard sound system, which consists of four Dolby Atmos tuned speakers.

As for imaging, the new slate is equipped with two 8 MP cameras that are situated on its front and back respectively. One thing worth noting is that the front-facing shooter offers a wider 105-degree field of view and has a FocusFrame feature which tracks the user’s movements during video calls.
