Alongside the launch of the 12T flagship series, Xiaomi also debuted the new Pro variant of its Smart Band 7 wearable last night. As you may recall, the device initially made its debut in China back in July, where it was revealed that it would sport a completely different design from the standard model as well as featuring several new upgrades.
For starters, the Smart Band 7 Pro arrives with a larger 1.64-inch AMOLED rectangular colour display, which actually makes it resemble a smartwatch rather than a typical smartband. The panel itself features an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness based on lighting conditions, while its case comes with a rating of 5 ATM in terms of water resistance.
Those who love to personalise their devices will be glad to know that there are over 150 in-app watch faces to choose from. Additionally, the Smart Band 7 Pro is available in either Black or Ivory, while the colour selection for its straps include Blue, White, Black, Pink, Orange, and Green.
Found onboard the device are over 110 sports modes, as well as an array of health tracking functions such as all-day blood oxygen saturation (Sp02), heart rate, sleep, stress, and menstrual cycles. Of course, there’s also the typical smart band features including notifications, music playback, remote camera control and so on. Meanwhile, newly introduced on the Smart Band 7 Pro is the built-in GNSS system which enables for faster positioning and more accurate route tracking.
As for battery life, Xiaomi says the smartband offers up to 12 days of usage on a single charge. This is surprising, as both the non-Pro variant and its predecessor is capable of lasting around 14 days of use.
The new Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro is available starting today on 5 October 2022 via the brand’s official stores on Shopee and Lazada, as well as its own physical stores and authorised retailers nationwide. In conjunction with its local launch, Xiaomi is offering the new device at a special early bird price of RM 279 until 9 October, while stocks last. Outside of this promotion, the smartband will retail locally for RM 299.
