Infinix has announced that its Infinix Note 12 smartphone series will be arriving in Malaysia next month. As the brand‘s latest contender in the mid-range market, the device arrives in two MediaTek chipset configurations, namely the Helio G96 and Helio G88 – each also featuring some minor differences in terms of other hardware.
Both Infinix Note 12 variants sport the same size and design, though one way to tell them apart is the different camera arrangement on their backs. In addition, the G88 model is also slightly lighter – coming in at 184.5 g, which is 0.5 g less than its sibling. As for colour options, the former is available in Jewel Blue, Force Black and Sunset Golden, while the latter is offered in Force Black, Snowfall and Sapphire Blue.
For display, the duo comes with a flat 6.7-inch screen with 2400 x 1080 px resolution, with the Infinix Note 12 G96 model featuring an IPS panel while the G88 has an AMOLED panel instead. Both models also come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, DTS-enhanced dual speakers, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Under the hood, the Helio G96 variant of the Infinix Note 12 is offered with memory configurations of 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. The Helio G88 version, on the other hand, comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Both models come with a battery capacity of 5,000mAh with 33W fast charging. Besides that, they are also equipped with a graphene cooling system with vapor-chamber liquid cooling, as well as Android 12 (via Infinix’s XOS 10.6) out of the box.

On the imaging side of things, found on the back of the Infinix Note 12 duo – despite featuring visually different arrangements – is a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary, a 2MP depth sensor and a QVGA shooter. Meanwhile, housed within the waterdrop notch on the display is a 16MP selfie camera.
The new Infinix Note 12 series are slated to go on sale in Malaysia on 10 June 2022 via the brand’s official store on Shopee and authorised retailers nationwide. The MediaTek Helio G96 model is priced at RM 769 for the 8GB + 128GB option and RM 869 for the 8GB + 256GB, whereas the G88 variant is retailing at RM 749 for its single 6GB + 128GB configuration.
In conjunction with the smartphone series’ local launch, Infinix is offering all three models at special promotional prices for a limited time from 10 to 13 June. During this period, the Note 12 G96 is priced at RM 679 and RM 779, while the G88 is available for RM 649.
