vivo has introduced another Y series smartphone for the Malaysian market, merely a week after the launch of its Y21T model earlier this month. This time around, the brand has brought in its latest mid-ranger, the vivo Y33T, which shares some similarities in design and specs with the aforementioned phone, sans its slightly larger display and pixel resolution.

Now, before we move on to its specifications, let’s get this out of the way. Despite its name being far too similar to a certain slang that denotes a certain action, it’s highly doubtful that it is actually designed for that purpose. All good? Ok, let’s continue.

Like the Y21T, the vivo Y33T features a slim flat-edged body and a notched display. Difference being that the newer phone packs a larger 6.58-inchh IPS LCD screen with 1080 x 2408 resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Also onboard is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, up to 4G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, and Android 11 out of the box via vivo’s Funtouch OS 12 interface.

Again like its recent Y-series cousin, the new mid-ranger comes with a Snapdragon 680 chipset with Adreno 610 GPU. Alongside them are 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is expandable via microSD. Powering it is a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast via USB-C. Interestingly, the phone also features reverse charging capability, where you can top-up other devices with it.

As for photography, the Y33T packs a triple camera setup on its back, consisting of a 50MP f/1.8 primary, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro sensor. Meanwhile, housed within the notch on its display is a 16MP front-facing camera.

The vivo Y33T is available now in Malaysia for RM999. Those interested may purchase the new mid-range smartphone via the brand’s official concept stores, its E-store, authorised dealers nationwide, as well as its official stores on Shopee and Lazada.
