Infinix has officially launched the INBook X2 which is the successor to INBook X1 that the company has released in selected markets throughout the world including Malaysia last year. While the general design of the new model is generally identical to its predecessor, there are a number of factors that separate them apart.

Just like the X1, the X2 chassis is made from aluminium. In fact, it seems that Infinix has retained the X1 lid design for X2 although the new model is much lighter at 1.24kg as compared to its predecessor which weighs at around 1.48kg.

The X2 is also slightly thinner at 14.8mm as opposed to X1’s 16.3mm chassis. Infinix didn’t provide any details in regards to how the company is able to make the new model slimmer and lighter but we believe having a lower capacity 50Wh battery (X1 has a 55Wh battery) could be the key.

Speaking about the battery, Infinix claims that X2 is able to last up to 11 hours for web browsing while it is also being shipped with a 45W USB-C charger. As for the other new element that separated X2 and its predecessor apart, that would be the two built-in LEDs that are accompanying the laptop’s HD webcam.

Aside from what we have mentioned above, other hardware within X2 is similar to X1 including processor options which include Intel Core i3-1005G1, Core i5-1035G1, and Core i7-1065G7. Depending on which configuration you choose, it comes with either 256GB or 512GB of flash storage and up to 16GB of RAM.

Similarly, the X2 still comes with a 14-inch Full HD IPS display that has a peak brightness of 300 nits and 100% sRGB coverage. Pre-installed with Windows 11 as standard, the laptop also features a USB-C port that is used for charging and DisplayPort Alt Mode as well as data transfer.

Other I/O ports that have been equipped into X2 include another USB-C port for just data transfer, two USB-A 3.0 ports, one HDMI 1.4 port, one SD card reader, and a headphone jack alongside DTS-enhanced stereo speakers and two microphones. Infinix smartphone users can easily exchange files with X2 or activate the hotspot function in the phone using the company’s AirLink collaboration app.

Infinix has not yet announced a release date or local pricing for the X2 series in Malaysia but has said that the laptop will be heading to Indonesia, Thailand, and Egypt starting from 22 January. The company also noted that the X2 has a general starting pricing of US$399 (~RM1,672 ) for the base i3 model while the i5 and i7 options can be obtained for US$549 (~RM,2301) and US$649 (~RM2,720), respectively.
