JBL has launched several new audio products to its gaming-oriented Quantum line during CES 2022. These recently unveiled devices include a couple of firsts for the company, including its first ever standalone microphone for broadcasting, as well as a new active noise cancelling (ANC) enabled TWS earbuds for gaming.

The microphone, known as the JBL Quantum Stream, is a 2 x 14mm dual-capsule Electret condenser with 24-bit and 96kHz sampling rate. Designed for broadcasting purposes such as podcasting and live streaming, it features two selectable voice pickup patterns that are capable of recording both personal or group conversations, and there is a dedicated mute button as well. Other than that, JBL adds that the device also comes with RGB lighting, a universal mounting solution, and seamless voice monitoring control.

Next up is the JBL Quantum TWS, which is the company’s first ever gaming-oriented earbuds that can be used with mobile devices and portable consoles such as the Nintendo Switch. As mentioned earlier, the device features ANC that automatically cancels out ambient noise so you can focus on gaming or audio listening, as well as spatial surround sound support via JBL’s QuantumSURROUND technology. It also comes with onboard mics for hands-free calls, an included USB-C dongle for low-latency connectivity with consoles or PCs, and is rated at IPX5 in terms of water resistance. Battery-wise, the Quantum TWS is capable of lasting up to eight hours on a single charge, with up to 16 additional hours via its charging case.

Launched alongside the two audio devices are three new over-ear headsets, including the JBL Quantum 910, Quantum 810, and the Quantum 610. All three come with JBL’s QuantumSURROUND, a dedicated flip out mic for voice chat, and 2.4G wireless connectivity. In regards to the latter, it is worth noting that only the 910 and 810 models feature Bluetooth 5.2 support, while the 610 requires a dongle. As expected, the Quantum 910 is the more high-end from the three, being the only headset that comes with the brand’s proprietary JBL QuantumSPHERE 360 head-tracking technology, on top of a 50mm audio driver that is also equipped on the 810 model. As for battery life, the Quantum 910 boasts up to 24 hours of usage on a single charge, while the 810 and 610 are claimed to last up to 30 and 40 hours respectively.

All of the products mentioned are slated to be released in spring 2022, but their availability in other regions (including Malaysia) are not known at this time.
