ASUS has officially launched its new gaming phone lineup, the ROG Phone 5s Series in Malaysia today. Available in three variants, the new series will be taking the mantle over the ROG Phone 5 Series which was launched in our market back in March.
The main differences between both models come in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus which offers improved performance for the ROG Phone 5s Series. ASUS also stated that it has further pushed the touch response rate on the new devices from 300Hz to 360Hz.
In terms of pricing, this is how it looks like for ROG Phone 5s Series:
ROG Phone 5s 8GB RAM / 128GB storage: RM2,999
ROG Phone 5s 16GB RAM / 256GB storage: RM3,799
ROG Phone 5s Pro 18GB RAM / 512GB storage: RM4,999
In general, the price of ROG Phone 5s devices in Malaysia is identical to their predecessor although there is no Ultimate model in the S Series as its role has been taken over by the 5s Pro which has a similar 18GB of RAM and 512GB setup.
Ahead of its general rollout on 21 October, the new ROG Phone 5s devices will be made available for pre-order starting from 12:00 AM tonight through ASUS Mobile Store on Lazada. Alternatively, one can also choose to pre-order the new gaming phones via authorised dealers and selected Maxis Centre throughout the country.
Pre-order customers will be provided with a ROG Strix Go 2.4 wireless gaming headset while stocks last and they can also take the opportunity to purchase the ROG Clip with a discount of RM 100. Before we forget, do note that only the Pro model comes with AeroActive 5 external cooler as standard but those who choose the vanilla model can still obtain it separately for RM149.
