Even though the ROG Phone 5 Series has just been launched in March, ASUS has decided to release the ROG Phone 5s Series a mere five months later. Now, the company is preparing to bring over the ROG Phone 5s Series to our market.

According to a post on ROG Malaysia’s official Facebook page, the launch will take place virtually on 8 October. Based on the image that was included in the post, it seems that ASUS will be releasing both the standard and Pro variants of the ROG Phone 5s in Malaysia.

The launch’s promo image, as extracted from ASUS ROG Malaysia’s Facebook page.

In terms of physical design, the ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s are no different from their predecessor. The main difference between them is the fact that the S variants are equipped with a slightly more powerful chip in the form of Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus.

In addition to that, the touch response rate of the S models has also been improved from 300Hz to 360Hz. Other than these differences, both versions still feature a 6.78-inch Full HD+ 144Hz AMOLED display from Samsung alongside a 64MP triple camera setup on its back, a 24MP selfie camera, a 6000mAh battery and AirTrigger ultrasonic button.

Both ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro continue to support AeroActive 5 external cooler that ASUS has introduced alongside ROG Phone 5 Series. Just like before, only the Pro model will receive the cooler by default although we do not know at the moment if ASUS Malaysia has a different plan for the ROG Phone 5s launch in our market.
