Just weeks after the family made its debut in China, the vivo X70 Series has now made its way to Malaysia. Instead of all three models within the family, only two will be released in Malaysia for the time being.

For starters, both the standard X70 and X70 Pro are equipped with a 6.56-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display that has a refresh rate of 120Hz. However, you can tell them apart easily as the screen on the Pro model features curved edges which is absent on the standard model.

Another way to tell them apart is via their rear camera modules although both modules were still created through vivo’s collaboration with ZEISS and have a main camera with a custom Sony IMX766V sensor that is paired together with a gimbal stabilisation system.

The standard X70 comes with a triple-camera setup that features the 40MP variant of the Sony IMX766V sensor. The two other cameras in the module are a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom as well as a 12MP ultrawide camera.

Both of these cameras are also present on the X70 Pro’s quad-camera module. However, it also carries the 50MP version of the Sony sensor together with the addition of an 8MP periscope telephoto camera that has 5x optical zoom capability.

In addition to having ZEISS-engineered optic and ZEISS T*-compliant coatings, both phones also come with portrait modes that were inspired by several well-known ZEISS lenses including Biotar, Distagon, Planar, and Sonnar. Completing the X70 and X70 Pro’s photography tool is a 32MP selfie camera.

Both models are powered by a custom variant of the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip which apparently was made exclusive for vivo. This particular 6nm octa-core chip is said to offer up to 40% improvements in terms of AI performance and consumes 10% less power than the standard Dimensity 1200.

However, the standard X70 has 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage while the Pro mode offers 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. Accompanied by a 44W FlashCharge charger as standard, their battery capacities are very close to each other at 4400mAh and 4450mAh, respectively.

Price-wise, the standard X70 can be obtained for RM 2,499 while the Pro model goes for RM 3,299. Both of them are readily available for pre-order immediately until 1 October through vivo E-Store as well as vivo’s official store on Lazada and Shopee alongside various retailers throughout Malaysia.
