It appears that ASUS may be planning to unveil a new entry to its current generation gaming smartphone series with a device allegedly known as the ROG Phone 5S. According to a recent leak shared on Twitter, it will supposedly see a launch on 16 August 2021.
The leak only detailed the phone’s key specifications, so it is not known if the ROG Phone 5S would sport a similar design as its siblings or feature a new look altogether. It is claimed that the device will also sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset, which debuted together with Xiaomi’s recently launched Mi Mix 4 smartphone last night. The new ASUS gaming phone would be offered in two memory configurations: 16GB RAM + 256GB storage, or 18GB + 512GB.

Other specifications are said to be similar to the original ROG Phone 5 releases. Although the size wasn’t specified, the leak noted that the phone would feature a 144Hz OLED display and would also be equipped with a 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging capability. Unfortunately, no information regarding its cameras were detailed.
As usual, we highly advise you to take these leaked information with a grain of salt until they are proven accurate. That being said, we shall see whether the ASUS ROG Phone 5S actually does exist when its supposed launch arrives next week.
