Last week, rumours surrounding AMD’s Ryzen 9 5900HX mobile CPU made its way and that one of the first gaming laptops to go on sale with it is the ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX551QS, or the Zephyrus Duo 15 SE. In regards to ASUS, the brand seems to have another gaming laptop, powered not just with a Ryzen 5000 series CPU, but also an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series mobile GPU.
The gaming laptop in question is the TUF Gaming A17. Specs-wise, the laptop is expected to feature an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPU, along with an RTX 3060 mobile GPU that is simply listed by its codename, GN20-E3. CPU-wise, the 5800H will reportedly feature a base and boost clock of 3.0GHz and 4.3GHz, respectively.
Other specifications of the A17 include a 17.3-inch Full HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 250 nits peak brightness. Additionally, the laptop will feature 8GB DDR4-3200MHz RAM, though it is unclear if the memory in this model is soldered or swappable. For storage, we’re looking at a 512GB SSD.
Lastly, the A17 and its components are powered by a 90WHr, 4-cell battery, which is actually quite sizable and should provide longer than average battery life. Oh, and it also weighs in at 2.6kg.
At the time of writing, there’s no word when the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 will be arriving in Malaysia.
